Enter into the World of the Earie...

Nathan wants to escape his past, Alicia wants to remember hers... The Shadows are rising

Alicia Parson has no memory of who she was before she was found alone and unconscious on a beach
in North Wales by Wulfric Stansfield.
A year later, and still struggling to remember her past, whilst living with Wulfric on his family's farm, she is confronted by a strange and fiery woman by the name of Cassandra, who claims to have known her in the past and warns her that the old danger that she had mortally fought have returned. The Shadows, a parasitic entity that claims the lives and bodies of those touched by them have escaped their prison from inside a black mirror. Cassandra instructs Alicia that she must follow her back into the Eárie; a parallel world where hill tribes live in wooden forts in the mountains and return to her own people, the Færignites, people blessed with control over the energies of the earth, to continue their fight against the Shadows.
They must travel on foot, against the dangers of the land, while the Shadows grow in strength.
Meanwhile, Nathan O'Hara, haunted by his father's suicide takes refuge in the solitude he finds in the rugged mountains of the Eárie until he sent on his own mission by a siren to find the mysterious "party of three..." he must learn to bear the burden of company again of two playful sprites, Passer and Lamprey.

The World of the Eárie

The Eárie is a world, like ours, but for those who dwell there, life is tough and many creatures, dragons, sprites and elvern lost in this world, have taken refuge there..
Some of these, the elvern and the sprites, persecuted by man for being different, have taken to living underground in places such as Muþanwyé, right.
Many people still live in tribes and hillforts in the mountains of the lands we call Wales, some in towns and villages in Angloland (England), and like those in the west fight against each other ruled by King Edward The Slow.
Many books have been written about the Eárie, the most informative and reliable sources are written by the merchant turned scholar, Jefferey Harvey, who noted his travels and subjects often in diary form. In his life he wrote seven books.

Arianna - from the Prologue

Arianna was once the leader of the last of the Færignites,  a race of immortal people bound to the earth, when the Shadows had first become all powerful, leadership, to save her persecuted people was thrust upon her, she sought to unite her scattered kin together to fight against the Shadows. Following the mass bloodshed after the Shadows attacked while trying to  reach safety, she gave up her life to imprison the Shadows inside of a mirror that became the Mirror of Shadows.
What are the Shadows?
Shadows - their gaseous almost liquid-like appearance is their primary form. Their greatest desire, above killing and inflicting pain, is to posses a body. In this form, they can kill by touch and enter the minds of their victims.
Shadowforms - the name given to the bodies, possessed by Shadows. They have a malevolent consciousness and are driven by hate of the living,
Scátwl -  the name given to the victims, driven to insanity by the Shadow's influence. They are often tortured souls, driven to self destruction and harbor a hate of the natural world.
Before Arianna took her life to imprison the Shadows, she laid the foundations for another to follow in her footsteps, to continue her secret work against the Shadows, unknowingly setting the path to someone closer than she thought.
